Adil is a Built Environment Simulation Specialist he has 13 years of research, consultancy, training experience in Energy simulation, modeling and Design fields. Besides this he has served as a visiting faculty in School of Planning and Architecture ITO New Delhi, ISHRAE Education Research Foundation, Middle East Centre for Sustainable Development (UAE) and Jamia Millia University. He also authored and published research papers in national and international conferences in the related fields. He is one of the founding members of IBPSA (I) International Building Performance Simulation Association - India chapter.
He did his Mechanical Engineering from Jamia University and a post graduate degree in "Energy and Environmental Management" with specialization of Energy System Modeling, from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
He serves GEED in the position of Principal for the organization, beside his consultancy and research engagement with other bodies and institutions. His active engagement and interest includes simulation of built environments for energy optimisation, comfort and life safety.
His building performance work portfolio revolves around Building Energy Modeling for appendix G ASHRAE 90.1 compliance and calibrated energy simulation for existing buildings, virtual testing of automation system logics (EMS) and design assistance in passive Architecture for carbon neutral design.
Additionally, he uses extensive computational fluid dynamics techniques for simulation of air flow, thermal, micro climate and IAQ situations. Other building performance optimization includes data acquisition, continuous/green building commissioning for green building certification, Building Thermography and Energy Audits. Further, his life safety work portfolio includes Fire/Smoke Modeling for NFPA Tenability compliance, Evacuation and agent based egress simulations for buildings and transit spaces. He is an ardent programmer and carries on his scientific computing and software development side by side for work efficiency and process optimisations.
Professor N.K.Bansal, Ex-Vice Chancellor, SMVD University, is a former Director and Senior Professor Centre for Energy Studies at IIT Delhi. Presently he is consultant to the Ministry of Renewable Energy Govt. Of India and SINTEX chair professor CEPT University Ahemdabad. He is a renowned Energy Expert with international repute in areas Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Energy Economics and Planning. Professor Bansal has guided many Ph.D. scholars and has written extensively in the area of his expertise as evident from his 20 books, more than 300 papers, several articles and state of art reports.
He is the recipient of Amity Academic Excellence Award 2008,Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award 2007, Life Achievement Award in Education 2005, Pioneer in Renewable Energy by World Renewable Energy Network 1998 and Dr. CM Jacob Gold Medal 1995.Holder of Alexander von Humboldt and DAAD fellowships Professor Bansal has lectured extensively in Germany, USA, UK and Sweden.
His works on Climatic Zones and Passive Building Design is used extensively by researchers and practitioners in India and abroad. Professor Bansal has been consultant to USAID, German Technical Cooperation Society, and Industries in India and abroad. He has been a member of Scientific Advisory Committee of a German state as well as Board Member of Solar Institute Juelich, Germany and presently on the Advisory Board member of an European project on Future Climate being Coordinated by Denmark Engineering Association. Professor Bansal is an educationist and scientist of repute in the field of Energy Science and Technology.
He took over as Vice Chancellor of SMVDU at a time when the institution was lacking academic vision, had fragile infrastructure and needed stability. Within a short span after his joining, he introduced an academic pattern with complete transparency and a teaching system, which forces a student to learn beyond class room teaching.
Prof. Bansal is no doubt a prime motivation and force behind existence of Global Evolutionary Energy Design. He always take interest in latest development and advise us on various issue of scientific computing with relation to energy efficiency in buildings.
